Growing up, I’m sure we’ve all had a time where we dreamed of becoming famous Youtubers or content creators.  Growing up, I loved watching the likes of Mr Beast, Dude Perfect, PewDiePie and more.  I was always in awe of these Youtubers who led incredible lifestyles, making a fortune off of doing what they love.  But making viral videos isn’t always as easy as it seems.  There are many different aspects of content creation that are pretty difficult to master, but one of the hardest is probably video editing.  Sure, it’s easy enough to learn how to do simple things like stitching parts of a video together, or using simple visual effects.  But if you really want your videos to be successful, you need your videos to be as appealing as possible.  From visual, to the perfect lighting, or even the right sound levels.  This can all be hard to master.  So, today, I’m going to be taking a look at how AI can help revolutionise the AI industry, and make it easier to create awesome videos.

First of all, let’s talk about the current uses of AI in video editing.  Here are the many current AI tools in Video Editing, and this list will surely expand in the future.

  1. AI Upscaling

AI upscaling is in my opinion one of the coolest tools out there right now.  Simply put, it involves taking an older lower quality image, and transforming it into a higher resolution image.  This transformation is called upscaling!  So how does this process work?

Firstly a picture is made up of thousands of coloured pixels, with each pixel being a different colour.  When you put all those pixels together, they make a picture.  The higher resolution or quality that the picture is, the more pixels there are.  The lower the resolution, the less pixels which is what gives the photo the grainy or blurry look.  So basically for an image to be upscaled, the number of pixels needs to be doubled or even tripled.

So how does AI increase the amount of pixels?  The easiest way to explain this process is that AI “Fills in the blanks”.  To double or triple the amount of pixels in a picture, AI uses an algorithm to generate pixels so that it can fill in empty spots where there weren’t any pixels previously, which in turn increases the resolution.

  1. Video Stabilization

Algorithms used for video stabilisation reduce undesirable camera jitters and shakes caused by hand jiggling and unintended camera panning.  This tool can be very useful for videos that are filmed using a phone or a camera, such as vloggers, food reviewers, and more.

  1. Automated Video Editing:

AI has enabled the development of automated video editing tools that can process raw footage and automatically generate polished, edited content. By using machine learning algorithms, these tools can identify key moments, remove unwanted segments, and stitch together the best footage to create a coherent and engaging video. Automated video editing not only saves time but also allows content creators to focus on their creative vision rather than tedious manual tasks.

Those are the main uses and tools in video editing that Artificial Intelligence currently is capable of in Video Editing.  Now, let’s quickly look at the best softwares and apps that utilise these awesome features!

1. Adobe Premiere Pro

2. Wondershare Filmora

3. Runway

4.Synthesia

5. FlexClip

That’s all for today folks, tune in next time for more AI content like this!
